Firstly, let me apologise for the delay in this post coming out.\u00a0 Secondly, many people may have already seen this at the end of last week with regards to Dell having some secretive talks about their future.<\/p>\n
As you will all be aware, Michael Dell went through a phase a buying back shares to become a privately owned company, and then went off and bought EMC.\u00a0 That has meant that Dell now has a lot of debt (approx. $46bn) and the rumour is that they are now looking to take Dell public again, which may help to clear a significant amount of that debt in one go.<\/p>\n
The other rumour linked with the possibility of a Dell IPO is the fact that Dell are also considering purchasing the remainder of VMware outright and a public share sale of Dell’s Pivotal Software cloud computing venture.<\/p>\n
We’ll have to wait and see what the final results of these meetings are – but there could be significant changes ahead.<\/p>\n
